Renault R5volution
As the Executive Producer and Creative Director, I spearheaded the comprehensive visual evolution of this project, transforming a grounded production into a multi-award-winning cinematic spectacle. While the live-action was directed by the visionary Sebastian Strasser and produced by Henry, the task of architecting the "from-scratch" visual identity was a massive undertaking that I personally directed and creatively led, managing a global team of over 60 visual artists. This collaboration spanned the globe, synchronizing elite talent in Paris, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Armenia, Czech Republic, London, and Berlin.
I was responsible for the entirety of the post-production aspects, specifically the visual development of the mountain and its deeper creative meaning within the context of the film’s narrative. The physical shoot took place in a utilitarian parking lot using a 10-meter structure of salvaged cars; my role was to scale that environment into an 800-meter vertical odyssey. I ensured that the "Car Mountain"—a colossal structure symbolizing Renault’s historic transition to electric mobility—possessed the visceral weight, vertigo-inducing scale, and atmospheric texture required to captivate global audiences.
The success of the piece relied on a seamless integration of world-class Art Direction and digital world-building. I directed the team through meticulous research on high-altitude dynamics and atmospheric perspective to ensure the protagonist’s ascent felt truly epic. From managing the creation of intricate Digital Matte Paintings to supervising massive 3D panoramas and seamless set extensions, my focus was on achieving a level of craftsmanship that transcended the limits of the physical set. This holistic creative leadership was recognized on the world’s most prestigious stages, most notably securing a Cannes Bronze Lion for Production Design/Art Direction, as well as top honors at the Clio Awards, D&AD, The One Show, and the Berlin Commercial Festival.
